Do we like fishing in our spare time, are we football fans for “our sins”. Shall we just inject some poor-quality accounting humour in an attempt to appear relatable.
Let’s be honest, this is a mutual relationship, you choose to work with us, and likewise we choose to work with you. We aren’t the accountants for everyone, but you do need to know if we are the ones who may be able to help bail you out of the shit as we have seen the situation before, or can we enhance what you already do.
And most importantly – if you need something – will we be able to do it?
With that in mind, meet the key players
Claire
The Heart of The Accounting Function.
Claire came to us in 2023 having been headhunted for being that damn good at what she does.
With a wealth of experience in a number of sectors, she is as at home explaining numbers in a sensible and logical manner, from board level to nuts and bolts mechanics on the ground floor.
If you need a boot up the arse to focus on the finances of the business, she’s your lady – efficient, warm, intelligent and completely reliable in everything she does.
To quote her.
“It’s amazing the number of businesses that don’t realise finance is a key function of your business, not just something you do at the end for the accounts”
Rob
The bald bloke who knows a bit.
There is a world of difference moving from being self employed to running a business, and a huge number of pitfalls that you can fall into, before we even get to being tax compliant.
If there’s a mistake to make, he’s made it (or seen someone else make it). But he’s also seen what works.
Grow too quickly – cashflow becomes an issue
Go into business without an agreement – it will cost you.
Good advisors are about seeing the whole playing field, and knowing what will happen in the event of the decisions you make. That’s where Rob comes in – taking a knowledge of the tax system and overlaying it with the numerous situations he’s seen in the last 25 years and displaying it in a simple, succinct and humorous manner (where possible)
Jade
The Practice Manager and Chief to-doer.
Jade Hart is our practice manager and is borderline obsessed with keeping you happy.
Having left the NHS in 2022 to join us, we hold her responsible for the increase in waiting lists and general NHS inefficiency that followed.
Chatty, friendly and irritatingly chirpy on a Monday morning – but also ridiculously good at getting things (and making sure other people) get things done.
She’s the oil that keeps this machine running for us and the person you can speak to – to get the ball rolling.
